What you will be doing

Our Decision Modelling – Operational Research team delivers a broad spectrum of services from complex transaction-related financial modelling and business planning through to developing decision support and operational research solutions. When you join us, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects, allowing you to develop a broad range of skills. Projects often involve supporting the client’s business, strategic, tactical or operational agenda. What you will be doing

  • Using innovative techniques like simulation, machine learning, scenario modelling and visualisation to help clients make optimum use of their physical assets.

  • Developing expertise in analytical tools, such as SQL for data wrangling and PowerBI for data visualisation, while leveraging R and Python for data analysis and statistical modelling, including forecasting calculations and scenario modelling.

We offer our clients comprehensive solutions to industry-wide challenges, including IRB, IFRS 9, Stress Testing, FRTB, IMM, Traded Risk Management and Monitoring, and ESG Risk. 

Data is at the heart of what we do, and technology is the driver for the solutions we bring to our clients. We use cloud-based high-processing power platforms to develop data extraction and warehousing solutions, leveraging machine learning and advanced analytics. This includes using various programming languages (e.g. Python, R, Azure ML, SAS, SQL), Bloomberg terminal and data visualisation or reporting tools like Power BI to bring non-technical users along the journey.

We work with wider EY teams to help businesses improve their systems and processes using a digital-first mindset. Bringing together a broad range of skills and mindsets, the Risk Innovation Hub helps clients to navigate through technology transformations and creates bespoke solutions to answer some of their biggest strategic challenges. Leveraging emerging technologies such as AI and expertise in Low Code Platforms, Data Analytics and Visualisation, UI/UX Design and much more, our teams help to automate and drive efficiencies both internally and externally. 


What you will be doing

  • Working in UK & Ireland to digitalise risk reporting for global clients by analysing data and developing unique tech-enabled solutions to enhance business performance. 
  • Leading technology solution demos and design workshops for our clients. 
  • Developing systems, data pipelines and data driven insights through data visualisation for our client’s biggest challenges. 
  • Getting to know our clients, their businesses and future technology needs. 
  • Collaborating across EY with different organisations to create and design new client solutions. 
  • Design and create solutions for now, next and beyond, helping clients to address global challenges. 
  • You’ll be working across a portfolio of clients assigned to you. This will involve a mixture of hybrid working – travelling to client offices, working in the EY office and occasionally from home. It will vary by client/project and will depend on the requirements of both the client and project team.
