Programme overview
Our team drives purposeful growth, positioning EY as the most client-centric, connected and trusted professional services firm. We do this by establishing strong market relationships, originating new business, driving sales and increasing our chance of winning.
You’ll gain exposure to the complex issues facing our clients, and how technology can be used to address these. You’ll also gain an understanding of the underlying technology (for example Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Cloud Transformation), and how this can be deployed, often in combination, to enable our clients’ future success.
What you will be doing
- Working with a wide range of clients from innovative market disruptors, to established household names.
- Analysing trends across the Financial Services sector.
- Organising client workshops.
- Preparing Account leaders for client meetings.
- Listening to client problems and defining strategies and solutions.
- Developing and writing sale proposals.

Programme overview
As part of this programme, you will focus on two areas:
- Study for a degree in Business Leadership and Management Practice at Northumbria University. The module breakdown can be found here.
- Study towards a professional qualification from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI)
Apprentices participating in this programme will be located in Newcastle and will join our Core Business Services (CBS) team, and also engage with the Consulting Service Delivery (CSD) team.
Across the programme, Apprentices will rotate through the following departments:
- CSD Operations
- CSD Go-to-Markets
- Operations
- Deal Activation
- Brand, Marketing, and Communications (BMC)
- Enablement
- Resource Management
- Service Quality
What you will be doing
- Studying one day a week towards degree qualification. You’ll learn in-person at Northumbria University whilst studying towards your degree during term time, with additional study days to support and facilitate continuous learning throughout the year
- Throughout the course, work across a range of operational disciplines to get a feel for different areas of CBS which include Operations, Deal Activation, BMC, Enablement, Resource Management and Service Quality. Work within these CBS teams, to help to grow our business, maintain control of a large client-facing operation and seek smarter, more innovative and more collaborative ways of working.
